Renaissance Dam fundraising event to be held next Saturday with the participation of Ethiopians living in the Nordic countries
March 29, 2013 (ENA) The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam Fundraising Program will be held on April 2, 2013 with the participation of Ethiopians living in the Nordic countries.
The forum was organized by members of the Ethiopian community in Norway in collaboration with the Ethiopian Embassy in the Nordic countries.
Dr. Teferi Dejene, coordinator of the Nordic Group of Ethiopian Scholars, told ENA that the fundraising program aims to strengthen the support of Ethiopians living there for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
He said Ethiopians participating in the forum will be called upon to support the construction of the dam and urged those who are supporting it to continue their support.
He said awareness creation will be carried out on the progress of the construction of the dam and the tripartite negotiations.
In this regard, the Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Dr. Sileshi Bekele, is expected to give an explanation on the construction and negotiation of the dam.
Dr. Teferi explained that the internet discussion aims to inspire citizens in other European countries to prepare for the Renaissance Dam.
Ethiopian scholars have set up a fundraising committee for the Renaissance Dam, which includes a group of Ethiopian religious leaders, community leaders and members of the Ethiopian community in Norway.
